Swan Products 3000W Temperature Controlled Kettle : Glad we bought it.

Only had this kettle for 5 days now but so far very impressed with it. It’s much quieter than my previous kettle with similar functions that wouldn’t switch off when the water was clearly boiling. No such problem with this kettle. It gives a clear digital temperature readout and promptly switch off when it reaches the required temperature. It dies beep three times quite loudly once it has reached the chosen temperature. I have one criticism and that is the buttons are a bit too hard to push, they could be easier and i don’t particularly like the type of button they used. Other than this the kettle is prefect and i am very happy with the value for money presented with this kettle.

Updated to 3 stars: still don’t know if i’ve been refunded swan?. Sent recorded well labelled with packing notes. This would have been a great kettle had it not beep loudly when you power it up. Beep to turn it on, it beeps again when you start to boil setting, and beeps 3 times when finished, not sooo bad in the day but disturbing my neighbours when i’m up late, is there anyone who makes a quiet kettle??.That actually holds up for a few months?. Made of stainless steal and not cheap parts like bosch and others have started doing. Just a guy looking for a reliable kettle with no fancy leds or beeps at least let us deactivate the beepsupdate: i found one. 7l variable temperature control cordless electric kettle – stainless steel’ this has more features including a warmer setting, nice amber lights that don’t glare with a positive feel, a wider lid that uses a push button to open much wider than the swan with a larger fill diameter, this is the best one one i’ve managed to find. The swan is still very well made and functional kettle.

It seems like a good kettle, i like it. It’s a bit cheap on closer inspection plus it reaches 90 degrees on the screen but i can hear the water manically boiling, eventually the kettle shoots its display up to 100 and beeps to say it’s ready. Seems to be over-boiling by quite a lot. Not sure if that’s normal for this kettle or ours is a bit defected?either way, we’re happy with it, hopefully it’ll last a while. Edit: it lasted a year, the top cap has now broken so we have to fill it using the spout instead.

Being able to select which temperature you want is good for green and herbal teas. As it holds the preset temperature for about 20 mins with one or two little bursts of power (apart from the 100c boil) it probably saves electricity since there’s no need to re-boil. The temperature display is useful for when you need tepid water eg to use in breadmaking. The only negative is that the level indicator is partially hidden under the handle – fine when filling from a tap, nor so good if filling from a filtered water jug.

Awesome kettle, very quick to boil water to the desired temperature.

Swan Products 3000W Temperature Controlled Kettle, 1.8 Litre, Stainless Steel : We have been 100% satisfied with this product. Having read some down side comments we were unsure about purchasing but could find nothing to compare on the high street. It’s a great produce with lots of features. Delivery was prompt and we can’t say better than that we would definitely recommend the product to friends.

We are really pleased so far (4days). Ordered sat, arrived tues – supping tea a few min later. We have a v nice coffee machine but recently have started enjoying various teas so treated ourselves to this. We’ve checked all the recommended temperatures on our teas & are now heating water to different temperatures for sencha green tea, jasmine green or black tea, ceylon & assam teas & also coffee (the kettle strikes back-: coffee machine broke the same day). I asked husband, shall we use the other kettle & have 2 cups to compare?. He replied, no need, i know this tastes less bitter. We think all our drinks taste better. The temperature is shown as it heats up so it can be stopped at whatever temperature is required. I have now also done away with the one cup hot water dispenser i used for water with lemon. Kettle & stand are compact (but sadly not a pretty blue like my last kettle).

Very happy with the purchase, it was delivered in less than 2 days, well-packed. The kettle is a good value for money. It has 4 settings, you can see the temperature changing as it boils, it stays warm for 20 minutes (you can see a red dot on the switch-on button, it goes off when you lift the kettle off the base), it beeps when ready, but it’s not an annoying loud sound, just enough to be awarethe scale has big clear numbers on it, easy to read, it’s contactless (you need to place the cord in the special in the middle, i first thought the base was wobbly, but it was only because i didn’t do it), you can wrap the cord around the bottom of the base if not using it for a while. I also liked the fact that the handle is p- shaped, rather than r-shaped, the last thing you want to do is to drop a just-boiled kettle. It’s not bulky, not too heavy. There is no plastic inside, the lid opens at the press of a button. It probably boils tiny bit slower than my previous kettle and there is some condensation inside on the scale, but i won’t downrate it just for it. I use it for matcha tea, green tea and coffee. I haven’t been lucky with the kettles for the last 10 years – normally it’s the plastic switch at the base that breaks, so i am glad there is a button to switch it on that hopefully wouldn’t break. It’s still early days, but consider how many faults has been reported in the reviews for other more expensive kettles with the same functions, i am really pleased with my choice.

A little noisy but boils fairly quickly. The stay hot function is ok except it doesn’t work with 100c setting.

An excellent kettle with temperature control.

I would recommend this kettle.

We are very pleased with this kettle. Would definitely recommend it. I drink a lot of green and herbal teas, it was just what i wanted and at a good price.

Extremely quick service & item has proved to be an excellent product.

Really like the temperature control options.

This is becoming indispensable as it’s easy to heat water to just the temperature you need. Swan has an excellent record for value and quality and that remains so today.

It’s a brilliant kettle has different degrees to press for different drinks and boils before you can turn around , excellent .

Used for several days now and can’t really fault it. Heats up quickly and the option to use lower temps and save a bit of energy is always a good thing. The only thing i would change is the beep. It’s not particularly loud but you don’t really need it either. The option to knock it off or have a light based indicator would be welcome.

Really useful to have temperature control as like drinking real loose leaf tea and if you get temperature wrong with green tea tastes vile.

Ever wanted to know how long your kettle will take to boil?. Noisy beast, plays a noise when finished boiling – if you are in a large room, totally brilliant. But if you live in a small house, or are in the same room when boiling, check out the ear plug offers.Boils to temp and water stays hot enough. I have had other kettles that say they are 100 degc but seriously got cold so quickly, it was doubtful. This, however, even after adding milk, has a hot cuppa at the end of it all.

It is an overall okay kettle but it does come with some flaws. Even so though it is probably one of the better options i could find (at least on amazon). Pros- stainless steel body- four temperature settings that seem to work as expected (warm, hot, hotter and boiling) but maybe not as accurate as i haven’t measured the actual temperature of the watercons- although it has a stainless steel body, the inside of the lid and the filter/filter holder in the spout is made of plastic. – limescale starts showing on the bottom even only after the first use. It does need descaling every 1-2 weeks of daily use but at least it seems that it cleans easily. – the temperature display is not accurate. If i set it to 70 degrees it will go up to around 60, then jump immediately to 70 and turn off indicating that the water reached the desired temperature. – the buttons feel a bit cheap and there is one annoying dot on the display that is lit even when the kettle is offother- it does beep for everything but i do not find it as loud and annoying as other reviewers- the lid opening is small and will not fit larger hands for cleaning although this may not even be necessary as it can be cleaned with a descaling solution or vinegar.

I’ve now had this for about six weeks and it works well so far. Good capacity, clear display, good precise temperatures. After reading other reviews, i was worried about the beep sound but it is not too loud at all. I can hear it from another room but when in the same room, it is not at all earsplitting. It certainly wouldn’t wake my 8mth old baby if he was in the same room. It boils quickly and keeps the water at the selected temperature by reheating. It does this for 70, 80 and 90 degree settings but not the 100 degree boil. I have really noticed a difference in my instant coffee as it is no longer burnt and green tea is much better and can be drank straight away which is nice.

100% satisfiedhighly recommendedlooks goodeasy to useextra featuresexcellent productworth every pennythank you swan.

  1. 2.0 out of 5 stars Good at first but not boilt to last and could be a hazard
After about a year i have noticed the top of the handle getting extremely hot when you pick it up after its boiled, making me have to pick it up further down the handle, literally too hot too handle. After a year and a few months i noticed a small leak coming from the the bottom, below the handle, again when it has been boiling. It did work great, nice and light, but has become faulty just over the one year, which is what i was looking up,and prompted the review. Apart from writing a review and writing to swan i don’t know what to do about it. Dripping boiling water and too hot to pick up after a year of once a day use is poor if not potentiality dangerous. I did my homework and read reviews on these sort of kettles as i have gone through about five normal kettles over about five years. The first couple where plastic with exposed elements which seemed too over boil and make horrible tea. Next two where steel with hidden elements and filters, one broke after a year or so, and the second rather heavy to handle, and wanting more accurate temperature for fruit tea, green tea and normal tea i picked the swan. Should i find anything good i will try too let you know, and should anyone be able too recommend an alternative for me too try, that would be great. With my expensive toaster breaking last year i must conclude modern appliances really are not mode to last, and reviews are the only chance we have of voting with our feet.

    1. 1.0 out of 5 stars Defective after nine months of use
The item over boils when being used this in consequence i believe caused the hinge/opening function on the kettle to break. The plastic kettle hinge that is used to open the kettle has now broken after just nine months of use. If you buy a item such as this you would expect the item to last longer than nine months of use before becoming defective. Up to this date the supplier has not acknowledged the problem with this item. I do not think i would purchase such an item as this again, especially as i do not seem to get a response from the supplier.

  3. 2.0 out of 5 stars Good for fruit teas not boiling water
Does not boil water, it is great for fruit teas @ 70, 80 & 90 but useless at making anything that requires boiling water. We now have two kettles on the bench so would not recommend this if you have a limited kitchen. If anyone knows how to tweak this unit so it does not switch off at any 90 x degrees please send me the information.
