Just a warning for people searching for a ‘healthy’ i. It has silicon seals at the bottom that come in touch with water. Not sure if they would leak anything into water over time. I wish i knew it when buying. Worked well but broke the glass eventually.
Ideal if you’re looking for minimal plastic contact with your drinking water. A visually pleasing design and super-fast boil time, together with the aforementioned health-promoting aspect makes this kettle a winner for me.
This is my 4 th glass kettle the others models were from other more expensive suppliers. The others all leaked within 7 days or developed rust on the element. This kettle is much better the quality is great and the cost of this kettle makes it a perfect choice. It may not have the flashy blue lights of other models but it boils and does not leak which is the most important. At present this is the best glass kettle i have owned in many years.
- Only one adverse comment
- So far very good
Just love bulbous glass kettle with orange glow as it boils. Make sure you click lid down properly though.
Almost as good-looking as the prestige one but the lid is a bit stiff and i’m worried that with use it might get broken quicker than the previous glass jug kettle but at the price paid, can afford to change it more frequently if necessary.

Thought i had rated already but a good kettle glass is made in germany.
I have had a glass kettle (another make) for the last twelve years with the same adverse comment – that is that the lid is difficult to open. Apart from that they are/were both excellent. The knack of opening is to put all four fingers into the lid, pull back as far as you can and then lift. It’s easy once you have found the knack. My old one broke in that it failed to shut off when taken of the stand before boiling, but and continued to boil when put back on the stand. I would certainly recommend this one and hope that it lasts the same length of time,.
I love the kettle but would have prefered it in white.
Most of the other transparent kettles are a lot more expensive because they have more features. But if you just want to boil water and nothing else, this is the cutest one that is the least expensive that i’ve found.
Unable to see light in kettle unless kettle spout is facing you.
Love these, had three glass jug kettles over the yrs and think they look so much nicer, pleased with this product too, looks good and yet feels a solid kettle , love the look.
I needed a new kettle was not sure of this make or name but i wanted glass well it works as well as my last branded one looks good and has a proper pouring spout i am well pleased would recconmend.
This is the second one i have bought for my mum. The problem with the first was the build up of chalk forcing its way between the metal element and the glass bowl. This build up creates a leak at the base and although descaled it did not solve the problem. The specialist screws in the base also stopped me from dismantling and cleaning the chalk out completely. She liked it so much i ordered another one although i am disappointed in its failure after only 3 years and not due to electrical malfunction.
Unusual design and efficient function. My only quibble is that the auto-boil cut-off doesn’t work until the kettle has been boiling for quite a while. I know i can switch it off if i am in the kitchen, but that’s not always possible. When filled to max this means that water does splash out when it boils hard and it’s also a waste of power. Oh, and the lid on mine isn’t stiff at all. Just wondering how long it will be before i ding it on the tap and shatter the glass.
Looks good in my kitchen, but the lid is a bit sensative. So you have to be very carefull when open the lid, but it does the job and looks smart.
I have now had two of these, and both have developed exactly the same fault, which is in the sprung ‘safety lid’. After two year or our use (not excessively heavy) this jams, so that you have to force the lid up to fill it. When it happened the second time i looked to see what was the problem and found that a plastic part inside the lid had broken. Apart from that, it was a fine kettle, fast and efficient, while it worked. I bought the replacement for that reason, and thinking that the fault might have ben a one-off. But i shall not be buying another.
It looks good, functions well and provides a much tastier cup of tea without the addition of toxins from plastic or aluminium.
No problem with the lid as mentioned by other reviewers. Quick, not too noisy and large capacity.
This one replaces a similar design we had which broke. It is not as good as the old one because there is a tendency for the steam to flow up your hand when pouring out. Especially when there is only enough water in for two cups.
It is ok not sure about the lid though. This kettle dosent always cut out and sometimes keep on boiling and have to be switched of manuelly.
Nice kettle would have preferred white to black but all in all it does the job. Not too sure how long the lid catch (which does take a bit of practice to use) will last. Very surprised that it does not auto turn off as i thought that was standard so just how the boil dry protection works is a mystery, hopefully i will never need it.
Had a similar kettle to this and it lasted for years. Good to have a see through kettle so that you can keep an eye for when the kettle start to build up of lime scale. It dose not boil as quick, but then you will over come that.
