Morphy Richards Essentials 43024 Jug Kettle – kettle

A smart functional kettle, cordless and in a nice stainless steel finish, very quick boiland pleasing design, goes well in our kitchen with other st/steel appliances, great value for money andwell known and reliable make. Morphy richards essentials 43024 jug kettle, stainless steel.

I like this because you can see when it needs water. My last kettle got turned on with no water in so it blew the element.

The kettle boils water, that is all you what a kettle to do. It looks ok and seems reliable, good buy if all you want is boiled water.

Good kettle, boils quickly looks good. Would have given 5 stars if the kettle incorporated a light indicator for on/off mode.

Takes ages for it to switch off after boiling, alas,no adjustment. Only time will tell if it keeps going.

Great product as this was for my mother it arrived well packaged and was a god send for her as she is 80+ and only bought the item as she cannot carry heavy stuff,.

This is my second of these kettles. The first lasted well over five years. The lid hinge looks a little flimsy but that’s not a problem for me as i always fill through the spout.

I bought this to replace my old morphy richards kettle but it is not as good, i am disappointed but it does work efficiently.

Does what it is supposed to – boils the water. Don’t particularly like the stand. Bought this as a replacement when other started leaking. Always been happy with morphy richards but feel this one cuts back on quality.

I was slightly disappointed that this kettle doesn’t have a coloured water display like my old one, which was down to me not checking before ordering, but it’s much quicker to come to the boil, and represents excellent value, so i’m very happy with it.

Spout fell off after 15 months. I think i’ll stick with bosch products from now on.

  2. 1.0 out of 5 stars Faulty Kettle
Bought this kettle just under 2 years ago and it has been lightly used. The weld on the spout has failed which must be faulty manufacture. I have had cheap plastic kettles that have lasted far longer. Morphy richards customer service will not entertain any help outside the one year guarantee period regardless of the circumstances so they don’t have much credibility on quality. If you buy this kettle don’t be surprised if it falls apart.

I bought this kettle just over 18 months ago and it has gone wrong already, perhaps that’s common these days but i expect something as simple as a kettle – basically a heating element and a switch – to last a lot longer. Before it went wrong its auto shut-off function was very temperamental and often didn’t seem to shut off at all, or took a lot longer than expected. I am sure somewhere the instructions say don’t leave it unattended but i’m sure most people would reasonably expect to be able to put the kettle on, pop to the loo, and not come back to find their kitchen full of steam and condensation dripping off the bottom of the cabinets. I should probably have returned it at the first sign of these problems while it was still under guarantee but never mind.
