London Pottery Farmhouse Loose Leaf Teapot – Great teapot

Got this for the office, its huge, well made and pours perfectly.

Use this teapot daily for a loose leaf tea brew. Easy to use, empty and clean. Cheerful colour brightens the day. Is quite heavy if used to a different type of teapot.

There’s something special about making tea with leaves and not bags. Nothing wrong with bags but the flavor is far superior with leaves. I take one star off for the, ever so slightly, over complicated design of the filter. It doesn’t need to be that secure. Now i’m off to put the kettle on for afternoon tea and bikkies. Here are the specifications for the London Pottery Farmhouse Loose Leaf Teapot:

  • Tea brewed in an infusion teapot is unrivalled when it comes to taste and refinement, so enjoy yours from this classic Farmhouse teapot
  • London Pottery Company: Made by Great British teapot specialists, expect long-lasting quality from this gorgeous red pot
  • For loose leaf tea lovers: This infuser teapot has a removable mesh filter to hold tea leaves as they steep and keep them out of cups
  • Drip-free design: The spout on this 4 cup teapot is long and upright to prevent any drips, ideal for family breakfasts
  • UK design by David Birch: This ceramic teapot carries an authentic London Pottery Company logo; capacity: 1 L (1¾ pints)

Since receiving the above teapot a couple of days ago i have had the best cups of tea in years. I had forgotten how a good cup of tea can taste with loose tea. The teapot itself is as described and pours without any drips. Lovely quality and would recommend to anyone.

The best teapot i have had inthe past 50 years.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Fantastic product for the price
  • On the heavy side, but is a good teapot 🙂
  • Not as good as it used to be

Love this teapot beautiful colour, received in good condition.

I bought one of these a in 2013 and have used it daily, great teapot for one person that likes a good couple of mug-fulls of tea in the morning. Unfortunately recently the lid fell off the side and smashed so i re-ordered one this month. I am disappointed to find the current model is a different shape, meaning the spout dribbles awfully and it holds 150ml less liquid (yes i did measure it). I shall be using the old pot with the new lid.

Needed to replace a cheap and cracked teapot – this pot is such an upgrade. Easy to use for bags or leaf tea. I really look forward to my weekend morning tea now, pot easily fills two very large mugs.

Well made, functional and easy to keep clean. My day is kicked off with two large mugs of earl grey tea and this gives me just the quantity i need. This is the second tea pot i have had of this model and will continue to be faithful as long as it wants me.

A friend had the large spotty version which thought it was lovely but too big for me so i bought this smaller one instead. It actually makes 2 mugs of tea but i borrowed (permanently) from my mother a bone china teacup and now have my tea in that. Previously iused tea bags but since getting this i have been using loose tea and i just love the difference in taste. The filter is easy to clean, the leaves go into the compost, and there is no dripping from the spout. For anyone who loves their tea get this and some proper loose tea.

I found it almost impossible to get the lid on with the filter in place. Could have used it without the filter but because of the high price i returned it.

I really enjoy a proper cup of tea made with tea leaves and with the in built tea leaf holder its brilliant and it just tastes better out of a teapot=. Well made and it cleans really easy.

First things first – if you’re expecting the finest teapot with the world’s best finish and materials then you might want to look elsewhere. This is a mass produced teapot that does everything it should do perfectly. Overview: it is extremely large (i bought the 6 cup version) and has a metal tea leaf strainer (not sure if that’s the correct word for it when it resides in the teapot). Pros: the spout is excellent: you really have to try hard to get it to dribble down the side of the pot. The metal strainer reaches to the bottom of the pot so that if you only want a small quantity then that’s fine. The holes on the strainer are fine, meaning that if your tea leaves and very small and granular (like the twinings ones in particular i find) then you still don’t get any particulate matter in the tea. It is solidly made and will last a very long time if you wash it well. It seems to be more than capable of keeping tea hot for a long time (i do always make sure to preheat it first with boiling water). Cons:the finish on the inside is not perfect but that is to be expect at this price. What i mean by this is that there a few lumps and bumps on the inner surface, but those won’t be visible to anyone.

I love the removable metal infuser.

A tradional shape teapot in a beautiful vibrant shade of blue. We decided to go back to leaf tea after discovering that teabags contain a small amount of plastic, and the design of this pot removes all the faff that used to be involved. The design is totally fit for purpose. The 6 cup pot is not too heavy and pours perfectly, no drips. The pot arrived very quickly, and was protected by biodegradable puffy things made of wheat – they dissolved away very quickly in water.

Perfect spout so no dribbles. Bought it as a present for my sister but thinking of getting one myself.

I absolutely love this teapot because i finally have a teapot that doesn’t dribble. It pours so well it’s a dream. It arrived today earlier than anticipated so that was a lovely surprise.

It is very heavy when full – you’ll need both hands to pick it up and pour out of this teapot. But then, i was wanting a chunky and big (big enough for 3 big mugs of tea) teapot, so i can’t really complain. Pros:the lid stays in place well when tipped to pour. Big enough for 3 big mugs of tea. The infuser is of very good quality – it clicks on, is big, does not allow even the fine tea leaves to escape, and is long enough so you can make just one cup of tea for yourself, too (which is a major thing as a lot of big teapots are designed without taking into account that sometimes people only need to make one cup of tea for themselves) con:it’s heavy – but then, it’s a big and chunky teapot so i should’ve expected that. Overall: very happy with the purchase :).

Lovely colour, sturdy construction, large capacity, filter very useful.

Great little teapot, makes the use of leaf tea easy & so now i finish my day not only with a pot of tea, but with a different tea every day. Making the modern traditional.

Good teapot for solo use when using loose leaf tea. The tea leaves go in the basket which lifts out once its infused sufficently.

Looks good, chunky solid styling. But huge design flaw: it’s heavy and the handle heats up to burning point. It can only be held with a cloth to protect your hand. I’ve used many pots of a similar design, but different makes & not had this issue. Unless i have a one off problem, his product has not been properly tested.

I bought this for my parents as they’d had loose leaf tea in a café and had been talking about getting a tea pot to brew their own cups of loose leaf tea. They love it and it’s been regularly used since it was bought.

Loose tea is filtered through the stainless container that fits neatly in the top. All parts have been through the dishwasher without any problems. The tea you use is a personal choice, we have tried three popular brands and found them all to be palatable.

This is my second purchase of these pots as they are the best of this type (with filter) that i’ve found. My only problem, though, is the lids seem to be vulnerable when dropped but the company doesn’t seemcontactable for enquiries apropos replacements. They advertise replacement filters which, being stainless steelare practically unbreakable.

Wasn’t sure how to rate “flavour” but the leaves i used were refreshing. I love my pot mind, the spout was dip free.

I wouldn’t recommend this teapot simply because it tends to dribble from the spout. I’ve had worse, but this is just not good enough. Pretty essential in my view, that a teapot reliably delivers the tea into the cup and not onto the table. The colour is not as bright as the photo. The filter is a good size and has a fine mesh, and it’s securely attached to the pot with a spring clip. Easy to remove for cleaning. The top is a good fit and also clips on. Capacity is good for two 260ml mugs or 2 to 3 cups. So, some plus points, but definitely not the best pourer.

    1. 1.0 out of 5 stars Definitely NOT drip free or a perfect pour as described
This teapot looks nice but it is terrible to use. It either gushes out or drips out, missing the cup/mug each time. It would be very difficult to get “a perfect pour” as described. Spills tea all over the work surface. Will be returning as a teapot shouldn’t be that difficult to use. This was to replace a london pottery teapot which i’ve had a long time but the lid has broken and it’s impossible to replace just the lid – the old teapot poured perfectly. Unfortunately the new teapot lid is a slightly different shape to the old teapot lid, so i can’t even take the lid to use on the old pot.

I prefer loose tea and this pot allows me to remove the leaves after the tea is properly steeped so it doesn’t go bitter.
