When my electric kettle broke (as they all seem to after 2-3 years) i went looking for a simple one: just a steel body with a traditional element. Now, it’s all gimmicky blue lights, windows, flimsy plastic bases and loads of plastic filters adding their carcinogens to the water. I wanted a kettle that would last. This one is built like a tank. Yes, it takes some time to boil water, but if you only boil as much as you need, the time can be reduced. Best of all, there’s nothing to break. The only moving part is the lid (stainless). And it has character – a timeless design. If any further reason is needed, water heated this way seems to be ‘hotter’ than that produced by an electric kettle, which makes tea much better.
Already done a lot of teas from this kettle.
I purchased this kettle as requested by my son as a christmas present. I am told it is just what he wanted and has certainly proved to be a well received present.
- beautifully balanced and made to last
- handle isn’t foldable
- It was fine when it arrived as a present
I love this kettle – it does exactly what ‘it says on the tin’i live in a very hard water area and love the fact that de-scaling this kettle will be straight forward. I love the fact that i am no longer dealing with leads and wet work tops. This is a sturdy, well made kettle that i would recommend.
Kettle – handle does not get hot, hooray. Never realised that 2litres was so much water but it does not cosy money to heat that amount on top of wood burning stove.

Good sized kettle almost seems a shame to put it on the fire it’s so shiny.
Brilliant kettle for the range. The size is great wanted one to keep on the range so we’re not using electricity all the time. The only problem is the lid is very hard to get off.
This replaces an expensive aga kettle we struggled with for years. It’s lid design included no vent, so when pouring, the steam projected boiling water for up to 2 feet unless the lid was not pushed completely down. How they have not been swamped with maiming law suits, heaven knows. The deluxe farmhouse kettle, on the other hand, is impeccably designed, beautifully balanced and made to last. We – olympics level tea drinkers – will look no further for our kettles in future.
Oh it was just the business , she was chuffed to bits with the ol kettle & its had a fair bit of use far better than ol lectric kettle . Many thanks for for sending it all packaged up beatifully , regards pete scales.
Very difficult to clean inside.
I have an aga and have always had an aga kettle but at a hundred pound plus i decided to try something a bit cheaper and so i bought this kettle and to say it is so similar to the aga one but at more than half the price cheaper which suits me fine , so i am very happy and would recommend this kettle.
This is just as its described it’s a great looking kettle and easy to clean, do not over fill otherwise it will take a long time to boil. Just what i need in a busy farmhouse kitchen, came on time and was well packaged.
This is residing on a hob abroad and is loved very much.
Am delighted with this kettle. It is well made and makes a much better tea than my old electric kettle. It also doesn’t cost anything to use as it sits on the side of my solid fuel rayburn until needed and then rapidly comes to the boil when moved on the hot plate. I deliberately chose a kettle without a whistle as i know all boiling kettles ‘sing’ as they comes to the boil and you can feel them vibrate through their handles once they are boiling. Am also pleased with the seller who delivered the kettle promptly and ensured it was well wrapped (just enough) to ensure it wasn’t damaged during transit.
Good delivery as usual, nice shiney stainless steel slower to boil than old aluminium kettle but having used aluminium for 20 year, we will probable forget that shortly. Only problem found is we use the kettle only partly filled both for need and quickness the straight spout is a problem whilst water is still boiling and you begin to pure, boiling water sperts out the spout uncontrolably which when not expected is rather dangerous.
Having searched for a while for a kettle with the’look’ for a farmhouse, this kettle complimented the stove perfectly. I loved the spout and handle.
Bought this for my mum as the other kettle had a hole in it. It hold much more water than the old kettle thank you.
It keeps its pretty shiny coating, it boils quite quickly and is nice and sturdy.
Brilliant – 2nd kettle brought (mine still going fine after 6years, 2nd one brought for a friend).
Excellent, very fast delivery and large sturdy kettle.
Brilliant product, solid, heavy, large and beautiful. Only downside is the lid nob thing broke off but i still love it (have to fill it up through the snout and use a butter knife to pry open lid for rare interior clean).
Is being returned, the knob on the lid has detached, was poorly attached & the lid tight and very difficult to remove.
As a born again luddite, i love the way this kettle fits in perfectly on the range. The lid is the only moving part so what’s to go wrong?. It boils much quicker than a pan on the same heat, fills easily through the spout and pours beautifully.
