This is the 3rd kettle purchased within a year. Finally i find one that fits the bill, actually i resorted to which to help with my choice as it is one of the highly recommended. I think the kettle is worth every penny. It also has an easily removable filter at the spout should the kettle build up with limescale (never had one of them before). The lid lifts fully with ease (unlike my kettle no. 1) and you can boil a large amount of water (unlike my kettle no. 2) and this one is cheaper than the other two kettles.
Loses one star as the light on my one flickers a little. However not a big enough problem to ask to return it and i suspect i was just unlucky as have bought this kettle before without that issue. Overall it’s a great kettle.
Lamp in the switch failed very quickly. Recently noticed plastic on the lid is beginning to break down so time for a replacement. Here are the specifications for the Kenwood True JKP210 Kettle –:
- New 1-cup graduations conveniently allows accurate filling up to 6 cups
- Mesh filter traps limescale, removes for easy cleaning
- Spout design allows easy filling and perfect pouring
- Polished concealed element makes cleaning easy
- Cord storage for adjustable length and tidier work surfaces
Boils quickly, stops quickly, and pours well. Handle is comfortable with slight grippiness. Feels well made, filter fits easily and simply for taking out and putting back. Only concern is on/off switch, it feels not quite positive, but no problem after one month. Definitely recommend this kettle.
Well made and easy to use, boils very fast and good capacity. Pure white colour matches out kitchen, a sleek modern design, and will happily buy another when the time comes and recommend to anyone.
Reviews from purchasers :
- Good value – Recommended – but lid catch failed after 1 month
- Kenwood True JKP210
- Overall it’s a great kettle.
Year old now, still looks great, quick boiler.
Brilliant kettle with clear markings and quick to boil.
Our old and well used breville kettle failed – started to leak after 3 years and they don’t produce the same model now, so what to replace it with?resorted to which?. Magazine and the kenwood is rated the best buy from a cast of hundreds. I have to say that the which?. Report is spot on in terms of description – it is light in weight, easy and comfortable to handle – a real consideration for my wife as she has difficulty with her grip, quiet and efficient in operation, easy to remove filter etc. We did not experience any problem with the water taste – filled and boiled water twice before using for drinks – no bad taste as reported by others. Would prefer it if the power switch operated to off when the kettle is removed from its base. All in all it looks like a good buy and not the most expensive by some margin. How reliable and what kind of life it has remains to be seen, but so far so good. One month on – the lid catch mechanism has failed – sticky operation from day one but has now broken. Amazon out of stock so returned for a refund.
Bought this kettle as a replacement for our philips kettle which had started to leak after 3 years heavy use. First impressions are good, feels sturdy, pours well without drips, easy to fill either through spout or flip up lid. Reasonably quick to boil, brightly lit on switch, good water level indicator both sides. Only criticism, its a bit noisy.
My previous kettle dropped water everywhere unless you dribbled it out of the spout. Quiet, smooth lines so easy to keep clean. Can fill from spout or open lid and when you pour it out it all goes in the teapot or mug. I have badly arthritic hands and this is easy to use and apart from the weight of water is light with a good handle for gripping.
I was delighted with this product on receipt. It looks very elegant, easy to hold, light, efficient and very sleek. The filter is excellant and removes the limescale with no effort and the filter is easy to remove and clean. However, after only a month of use the lid fails to open so had to return as we got fed up of filling through the spout. This is the second kenwood kettle we have had with this fault. We are returning and will buy a replacement when back in stock to give it another chance. Kenwood true jkp210 kettle, white.
I have been using it for a few months now, so far so good, very compact, which is idea for myself and family, as we have a small kitchen. Rather smaller than i expected, but maybe that’s to do with the actual purpose of the design; to save energy, and boil less water than you actually need at a time. Easy to use, kids use it as well. Only gave it 4 stars, as it developed scales rather too quickly for my liking. But then having said that, we live in a hard water area too, so could be the reason. Not yet tested after descalling, as we rinse it out after every use to put in fresh water anyway, only time will tell.
Fast boil eco kettle but i don;t like the led light on the on switch. This is a personal opinion and i just don’t like the look of it at all. Only bought this one as mine was broken and which?.
This is my second purchase of this model of kettle. The previous one started leaking but after 3 years constant daily use i don’t think it was poorly made. Easy to hold and well balanced, easy to fill and quick to boil. You can boil as little as one cupful of water so very economic. Criticised by ‘which’ as noisy but still rated a ‘best buy’ but as it boils quickly and soon shuts off i don’t find this a problem.
Already have one of these which has lasted well and is still working fine. On seeing this model is still available, bought it as a future replacement for ‘as and when’. Clean lines with a well-made spout filter, (great if you live in a hard water area).
Really smart looking kettle. The ‘white’ is very white and matches my kenwood toaster very well. I like this kettle a lot because you can boil only enough water for one cup, it’s fast but does take quite a few seconds to switch off after it starts to boil.
This kettle has consistently been a which?. Best buy over the last couple of years and currently features in the may 2014 magazine, although it does note that some people have reported problems with the lid mechanism. We bought it to replace our kenwood jkp200 which unsurprisingly cracked when we bounced it on the tiled kitchen floor. This model, the jkp210, is even quieter than our previous kenwood (which was far quieter than a different brand we had before that). We’re grateful to choosy for the tip given in the review ‘super kettle – once tcp dealt with, 6 nov 2012’ and can confirm that putting a couple of teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda into the kettle and boiling it really does work. Just had a super cup of tea having placed our order with amazon less than 24 hours ago.
Fab kettle, easy to clean inside and out (i regularly descale it to ensure the limescale is removed), the filter is great and hasn’t broken like previous filters (this is metal and not flimsy plastic). The kettle boils fairly quick and isn’t too noisy. Have recommended to 3 family members so we all have the same kettle :o).
Previously had an expensive eco kettle that was leaking. Looked for a replacement and this kettle was a ‘which: best buy. Simple design easy to open lid and lighted switch when on. Would certainly recommend this kettle to anyone.
This is a very good attractive kettle. Quick, practical, white and a nice on trend grey to add a bit of interest. Great lid action, wonderful grip on handle and dependable illuminated on switch. Easy to see water level on both sides of kettle marked off from one cup to six cups. An excellent product for a very fair price. Greatservice from amazon as usual.
I ordered this kettle because it is a which?. Best buy and i have not been disappointed. The only drawback is it only just fits under my filter tap (it’s about 2mm too tall so pushes the tap up slightly when it is on the drainer beneath the tap).
