IDEA Steel Reusable Aeropress Coffee Filter : Good quality.

This stainless steel filter works well, and fits without problem, and once used a quick wash off gets it sparkling clean again. You lose the convenience of being able to dispose of the paper and grounds in one push, so its a little messier , but its a bit greener and should cover its cost after a while. I’ve found that i’ve reverted to paper filters for the convenience, but that could just be me being lazy.

I am very pleased with this filter. As shown in the photo, it arrives in a small box, looking almost like it could contain some jewellery, and protected by cotton wool. This would be ideal if you wanted to give it to a coffee lover as a gift and it also protects the delicate filter very well. It fits our aeropress perfectly and makes excellent coffee. I can’t comment on how long it will last as i’ve only had it for a short period, but it seems well made and as if it will last. We had no issues with the filter letting any coffee grounds through. For the price, this is an excellent product and i would not hesitate to recommend it. Please note, i did receive this at a discount in exchange for an honest review, however i know how important honest reviews and always review honestly.

Used this quite a few times now and i like it. The coffee does run a bit faster through than the paper ones but still get a great taste.

Works well enough, but the thick steel edge, which isn’t flush with the filter mesh, collects grounds and makes it difficult to clean.

  • Simple, yet effective piece of kit
  • This stainless steel filter works well, and fits without
  • Good quality and easily cleaned

idea Steel Reusable Aeropress Coffee Filter. “Ultra Fine Mesh” and Comes in a Gift Box.

  • Tiny 250 mesh size – engineered for optimal particle distribution
  • Easy clean up – Grinds slide off with a quick rinse
  • 100% reusable
  • Comes in a presentation box

Good idea but not as efficient as our last metal filter one, as it lets grounds through much more than paper filters.

High quality, sturdy, and boxed well for protectionit fit perfectly in my aeropress, and i found it it easy to cleanno complaints.

This is actually really good, i’ve got other steel aeropress filters that let fine coffee grinds in so i found myself doubling up with paper and a filter. With this one it fits snugly into the aeropress and performs as well as the paper filters do. I’ve not noticed any change in flavour although my palette isn’t that sophisticated.

This is a great addition to our aeropress kit. Having used the paper filters for several months now i was interested to see the difference, if any, from the metal filter. All in all i would say the finish is slightly smoother but there’s really not much in it. I just like the fact this filter is reusable and i’m not creating as much waste. Definitely recommend to aeropress fans. I received this product at a discounted rate in return for my fair and unbiased opinion.

Does not let many coffee grounds through. Better than papers which tend to tear.

This filter makes the coffee taste so much better than with ordinary filters and is so well made.

Bought for the aeropress as preferred to using disposable paper filters. A little trickier as you don’t just throw away but at least i won’t run out of filters.

My husband has used this every day since we bought it. It works well and saves on buying the paper filters.

It is well crafted so i think it will last.

Really good saves on buying paper ones.

4 year veteran with the aeropress. Paper filters always seemed ok to me. The difference in taste with the reusable steel filter is remarkable. My coffee now tastes fresher and brighter compared with same coffee brewed with paper filters. The flavours are definitely more complex. I did not realise how much the paper filters were stealing from my brew. When pre-warming the aeropress i worried that the water drained through the new filter too quickly. I need not have worried though as with coffee in the chamber, less water now escapes the brewing process than before. I have ground my coffee beans really fine and have not had any grit at the bottom of the cup.

The product it self is fine – i just prefer the paper filtersfeel the description was a little miss-leading – didn’t include everything as i had anticipated for the cost. . (bought as a gift – didn’t feel it could be sent back once used.

Brilliant addition to a brilliant device makes fresh coffee even easier.

Such a simple, yet effective piece of kit. I’m honestly left wondering why i hadn’t purchased one sooner. It’s very thin, but both the filter mesh and the body appear well made. It also sit snugly in the press. The only draw-back is that i now much prefer the ‘upside down’ method for brewing, as it’s not able to hold the water as well as the traditional paper filter (with the press upside down, there’s no danger of a drip). Lovely item and i’ve very pleased.

Very happy with the coffee filter. It is well crafted so i think it will last. The slight taste of paper is gone. Very satisfied thumbs up from me.

Saved me repeatedly having to buy paper filters.

Good quality and easily cleaned. Been using mine daily for well over a year now and it still performs/delivers far better coffee than the paper filters.

Nicely packaged in a little square box, made a good gift.

  2. 3.0 out of 5 stars This madness requires a special method

I am not capable of tasting paper in a filter coffee, and i seriously doubt that anyone really is, but i do know that the texture of the brew is dependent on the method used to prepare it. I have traditionally used either a cafetière, which is a pain to clean, or a bialetti stovetop pan and am therefore used to coffee that includes some fine sand-like residue that gets stuck on my teeth. A coffee filtered through paper does not have this property and i was therefore delighted to try a mesh filter with the aeropress. On the first attempt, out of dumb luck i presume, i produced a fine cup of coffee that had the feel of a homemade americano. The second attempt was a failure as putting the filter on the loaded aeropress is quite difficult, flimsy as the contraption always is. I squirted an impressive amount of scalding coffee all over my hands. On the third try, i got the filter on properly, but as i turned the thing over, a copious amount of coffee leaked on the kitchen counter. On the next five attempts, one of the two latter things happened, seemingly at random. I decided to try to use the thing the way the manufacturer had intended it to be used and placed it on top of my mug.

Since i bought my aeropress i have just been using paper filters as i never knew there was an alternative. I was offered a discount to try this reusable steel version so that i could test it out and help you make a decision as to whether it is worth purchasing or not. Here is why i love it:1) it comes in a little cardboard presentation box for storing between uses. 2) it fits perfectly in my aerobie aeropress. I take my aeropress to work, picnics and on holidays so it gets a lot of use so i no longer need to carry a box of paper filters around too. 3) the mesh filter is really tiny so you never get any grind in your cup at all, just smooth really nice coffee. 4) it is very easy to clean, the coffee grinds slide off with a quick rinse and the steel looks like new after each rinse. 5) the item is small and lightweight but also robust enough to keep using again and again. This item will last for years to come. 6) the best part: i no longer have to taste the paper filter aftertaste.

As with other steel filters this doesn’t seal around the cap which means some people will struggle to use it without turning coffee making into a mess. The knack is not to fill the aeropress too high with hot water and to turn it over in one quick movement. Works reliably once you know how.

Excellent and easier to long term than the paper filters. Not sure if it make a great difference to the taste – ceratinly as good at least.
