Gaggia Brera Bean to Cup Coffee Machine – and easy. To de-scale just press the short and long

User-friendly and produces excellent coffee. Having owned previous coffee machines, this is the first automatic one i’ve bought.

Overall quite pleased with my new gaggia brera. Makes very nice coffee and lattes but find that the americano coffee could be a little hotter. It doesn’t seem to stay hot very long so needs to be consumed quite quickly. Also the brew unit is a bit of a pain taking it out and installing back into place every week after washing, but all in all i have no regrets about purchasing the machine and would recommend it to a friend.

Perfect coffee every time and so easy.

  • This machine is amazing, makes a great latte
  • Great coffee maker
  • Five Stars

The machine is easy to operate, you can make a ‘long’ or a ‘short’ coffee that is ‘weak’, ‘medium’ or ‘strong’, it rinses itself when you take it off or put it on standby, it has a wand to quickly heat milk, highly recommended affordable luxury, worth it just to smell the aroma given off when the coffee is being made, i use it just about every day to make the best cup of coffee i have had from a domestic machine, it has quickly become a ‘treasured possession’.

Wonderful machine easy to use excellent cups of coffee good milk frother.

Features of Gaggia Brera Bean to Cup Coffee Machine

  • This energy-efficient machine automatically switches to standby mode after one hour, then uses less than one watt per hour
  • Program the dispensing buttons on the electronic control panel to suit your own personal coffee preferences
  • Durable ceramic grinder retains the purity of the coffee aroma, and can be adjusted to grind as coarse or as fine as you like
  • Via the ground coffee compartment you can brew a different blend without changing the beans
  • Removable brewing unit for easy cleaning and maintenance

Great quality for the money, although does require frequent cleaning and maintenance. Highly recommended for relatively hassle free coffee at home.

This is a great machine, easy to use and maintain. A staple of italian ingenuity for all things coffee.

This was bought because traditionally the italians know one or two things about coffee. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants that restaurant coffee taste at home.

This machine does make lovely coffe and cappuchino. Not too difficult to figure out how to work and doesn’t take up too much space.

Coffee is not quite as good as a hand made espresso but its close and much better than pods. Very easy to use and clean, my only small gripe is the size of the water tank, if you use it a fair amount you will be filling it constantly. It never uses the last couple of inches of water in the tank for some reason. Even with the water issue it is a great product and i would highly recommend it for busy coffee lovers.

Bought to replace my previous gaggia that gave up the ghost after seven good years. Can’t complain to be honest as i suspect that i did something to render it doa. Anyway, i had a couple of criteria for my new machine. Firstly, i had to have the facility to bypass the beans and use ground coffee when i fancied a change and secondly, i wanted to be able to top up the water tank without removing it. Well, i got a 50% hit with this but the price was too good to be picky so i bought it. And was initially quite disappointed with the results compared to my previous gaggia – which i think was probably a higher spec model to be honest. The main reason being that there are very few options for the volume and strength of the coffee. My previous machine allowed me to infinitely choose the water volume between americano size and espresso. I could also adjust the amount of grounds in a similar way with a dial. On this machine you have two sizes – espresso and lungo, which is about half a mug and which is watery and weak no matter how you set the machine.

Took along time to decide which machine to buy finally decided on this one and have been delighted by it hardly drink tea at all now and have converted other half to coffee, coffee depends on bean you use and still in process of finding the perfect bean but overall very pleased with it. Other reviews have said straight coffee cold not found this a problem but warm cup first, descaling a slight problem went through cycle but warning light would not go off remembered seeing a review that stated new machines had different process, switch on to standby press the 2 coffee buttons for 6 seconds and the machine the goes through the cycle itself. Would recommend this machine without hesitation.

Although the machine was despatched from italy 9 days before christmas it arrived in 4 working days very securely boxed. The set up was helped by a well produced handbook and we quickly produced our first cups of espresso. So much nicer than high street cafes. As long as the basic routines are followed each time you switch on, the machine consistently produces delicious coffee. The one point of concern is that the machine shipped with a continental plug with adaptor which i believe is illegal in uk. This is something that amazon needs to address.

More and more people read reviews before they buy an item and i’m no different. I was impressed with the reviews that i read and the big discount was an extra sweetener. The product was everything that the reviewers claimed. Great crema and the programmable function to dispense the correct amount of fluid according to taste is a real bonus. I take the point about the liquid not being piping hot but i can work around that.

Easy and straight forward to use. Looks great out on the counter. The only cons are having a small water reservoir (makes about 3 long coffees before running out) and it doesn’t tell you until half way through when it chucks the beans away and makes you start again. The waste part can be a bit indecisive if it’s full or not too. Small quirks that don’t detract from a great product.

Arrived much earlier than stated which was great, and it works brilliantlyhighly recommend. Uses beans as well as ground coffee.

This machine is amazing, makes a great latte, and with a hot water function too is really good. Makes just the perfect coffee of choice, easy to use and clean.

Easy to use, looks good and makes great coffee.

I bought this machine for my hubby, as he loves good coffee and i wanted to purchase a quality unit that allowed you to grind whole beans, as most machines on the market these days a limited to the use of capsules only, which is not the same. If you want this, it does of course come at a premium but worth every penny. Slight issues with postage, as took a while to get to me from italy but well worth the wait.

Premium feel especially when you make a latte or cappucino. Just remove the plastic guide to make the milk as you will get a better control.

Love coffee and this makes a brilliant cuppa, its very easy to fill up with water and coffee. Easy to maintain and a perfect result every time. I buy bulk cream from local cash and carry and also have got bags of coffee beans from there when they were on offer at 50p a bag instead of the usual £5.

And i was extremely pleased with the unit. Lots of paperwork mind, and no trouble if your multi lingual. The unit is all i expected from gaggia, and my cncerns about whether it should be a delonghi or gaggia were answered swiftly. I had made the right choice. I’m rating this a 3 for the following reasons. Gaggia themselves suggest a water filter, but do not supply one. They should supply one in my opinion, and then, as it will need replenishing every few weeks. The other piece i was disappointed about is the water capacity. It very quickly gets exhausted and is only a slight pain when having to replenish. 3 is maybe a harsh review, but the general feeling is that it is a solid and rbust machine.

I had a gaggia syncrony … had it about 25 years. It finally gave up and i bought this machine. Irritating is an understatement. The coffee is not as good or as strong as my old machine, there is no crème. I have it on the highest “aroma” ie highest strength and its still insipid. My only option is to perhaps do two espressos. Water keeps coming out and filling the drip tray so that has to be emptied every few cups. The syncrony drip tray … i emptied once a week. The new machine constantly needs filling with water … probably because it uses so much to do a “clean” between cups. The syncrony had a dial for the amount of coffee you wanted so you could change it so much more easily than setting on the new machine.

Descale light didn’t go off after around 2 months despite regular descaling. After 10 months purge lights remained on even after purging several times, machine doesn’t work. Number and email supplied with machine don’t work- contacted seller who said to contact philips but gave no numbers or email. So don’t expect any help if your machine goes wrong .

I wish there was a little less plastic and more stainless in this machine, with that said these options are available for an increased price. I have only had it about 2 months but i have found it easy to clean, easy to maintain and the coffee it produces very good. For what it is and what it produces i think it is very good value and i would recommend it for those moving away from a manual who do not want to compromise too much in the way of taste.

I’ve always wanted a really fancy top of the line bean to cup coffee machine. What i assumed would be a steel beautifully crafted machine felt plastic and cheap, with ill fitting doors and janky bean mechanism. After successfully performing the initial setup, my problems really began. The machine would start flashing all error lights (something not covered in the manual) and if you ran out of water mid cup or if anything disrupted the process you would have to pull out the brew part and reset a spring which looked really odd when replaced. The construction was questionable. After a week of stressful mornings, 20mins of faffing about with the machine, i realised this was no way to start the day. I contacted the supplier and they said that maybe this is not the coffee machine for me. Because it’s my fault or i’m not good enough for it. The supplier refused to send a courier to pick it up, and came up with endless excuse to why they hadn’t sent one out, until i got amazon involved and they resolved the whole thing.

The machine arrived, i had always wanted a gaggia, good machines used by many. It seemed very lightweight in construction, very labour intensive compared to the de longhi, two of which i had owned before. The problem of having to empty a water drip tray every four or five cups, was a chore, the mechanism quickly got coated in coffee grains needing cleaning again every few cups. So it was very labour intensive again compared to the de longhi. However it did produce good coffee, well ground and hot. However after two and a half months of use it failed. It was sent for repair under warranty to gaggia uk service department. It was supposed to have been fixed, but on plugging in and operating for the first time since repair it immediately failed again. That was enough, request for a refund was denied by the supplier. But amazon customer services came good and and a refund was issued.

Had this machine 5 years and love it, makes perfect coffee and is very easy to use. Look after it and you will have no problems, so regular descale is a must if you have hard water. Only slight negative is water reservoir a bit small as it uses water to clean when comes on and clean when it shuts down but a minor niggle.

I’m a real coffee geek and my family bought me this for my birthday. Can’t speak too highly of it, it simply makes consistently good espresso based drinks. It’s self cleaning feature and easily removable brew group makes maintenance easy. Only problem is now i begrudge paying over the odds for inferior coffee in all too many coffee shops.

Well i’ve had this machine for 4. 5 years now and it’s started to make squeaky noises so i’m in the market for a new one. I’d never look further than this, the coffee it produces is excellent, and using whole beans is the only way to go for choice and price. I’ve made probably 4 cups a day for approaching 5 years and it’s been consistently excellent.
