Never thought i’d be writing a review about a tea infuser, but there you go. It’s true what the other reviewers said about this infuser – it does let the small bits out into the cup; making the tea bitty at the bottom. Not a major problem, but annoying nonetheless. I only discovered this by using pg tips loose leaf tea in the infuser and pouring hot water in, only to find that all the small bits just flood straight out into the water. I even tried using a bigger ‘bitted’ fruit tea and found that the same thing happened. Still, a reasonable product for a reasonable price i suppose – just don’t swig the last dregs of tea down too quickly otherwise you might choke.
Really nice got here stupidly late.
Bought a couple of different tea infuser spoons now and this is the best, as well as being the best priced.
- It’s okay.
- Not good for all teas
I agree with some of the other reviewers that the holes are on the large side. But i think this is also what makes them so easy to clean. I don’t mind a couple of leaves escaping the spoon though and i am very satisfied.
The spoon design is nice, making it easy to scoop the leaves from the jar and stir the tea when brewing. However the size of the holes in the spoon and the slightly loose seal around the edges means it’s really only suitable for large-leafed teas; if you regularly brew a range of teas i’d recommend getting one of the infusers that uses a finer mesh instead.

I bought this to replace one i had had for years. This one is not quite as nice but i am happy beacause i have looked everywhere for one like my original one but they don’t make them anymore.
These are just great for loose tea leaves – so simple to use and wash.
Not enough space to make builders tea but okay for most if you don’t put too much loose tea in. Putting more than a level teaspoon in will only result in the water not being able to circulate through the leaves and give you weaker tea.
Easy to use mechanism, staying shut when needed and opening easily to discard used tea-leaves. A few leaves do come through, but sink quickly to the bottom before tea can be drunk.
This was exactly what i needed for my lapsang suchong and other loose teas.
It is exactly what i wanted. It perfectly does the job it was made for. It is good value and good quality.
