Coffea Online com Wooden Handled Coffee Tamper – 57/58mm – very good tamper

Having read the mostly positive reviews for this item and requiring one for a gaggia classic that i bought my wife for christmas, i purchased it. This has a heavyweight, solid feel to it and looks good. It feels a lot better than the plastic one supplied with the coffee maker. Haven’t used it yet but will post results later. My daughter said that it looks like my hgv steering wheel knob.

It feels lovely in the hand when pressing down the coffee grounds – it’s also nice and heavy. I bought this for my gaggia classic coffee machine and it’s a perfect fit. It has a flat base too, not like some models i’ve seen before. Simply does the trick and i would recommend it as a really good buy.

Having started to taking my coffee making a bit more seriously, i was advised to replace the plastic gaggia tamper with one like this. I bought this model and haven’t looked back; you can really get some pressure on with this one.

  • Looks like my HGV steering wheel knob!
  • Good tamp, slightly small for a standard 58mm basket.
  • Lovely, tactile tamper

Solid well made and a pleasure to use. I m not sure it makes the coffee taste better but the resulting crema is good. Making espresso coffee using a gaggia machine is a ritual and the tamper enhances the experience.

It is a good tamper ( we needed one as the one built in espresso maker was hard to use and espresso was not so good)the design is exquisite. I love the combination of steel and wood, elegant.

It looks good, it feels good in your hand, it tamps the coffee, it has weight. Throw that plastic tamper out and treat yourself to the real article.

This tamper is very attractive, is a good heavy weight & does the job perfectly. Would definitely recommend this coffee tamper.

Good shape for gripping and quite heavy so tamping is simple. My son tried it and was envious as the one he bought was not as good as mine.

This is a good quality product. It has some weight behind ensuring that coffee can be tamped without the application of too much pressure. I use a gaggia classic (58mm) and have found that this tamp is not quite as snug as it could be in the basket, however, the item is fine for its price.

It is well build, very good looking tool to tamp your coffe and have it in your shop. The wood handle have a beautiful finish and the solid metal base compress the coffe in to the group head perfectly. I am strongly recommend it for people with coffe shops.

I use this with a gaggia classic and it works very well – as others have said, much better than the plastic nonsense that are often supplied with machines. Has a lovely heavy weight to it, feels like good quality.

I use this daily with my gaggia classic for my once a day 7. Its a real pleasure to use with a comforting weight and solid feel. I was genuinely surprised by the difference it made compared to the plastic press that came with the gaggia. Worth the expense for a press that i know will last longer than i will.

Very pleased with this tamper for my gaggia classic. Even though it doesn’t fill up the space fully, it works well, is nice & heavy and looks good.

Really a quality item, my one concern is that it is a bit too wide for my filter so it just about does the job if you fill it to the top . My machine is a de longi which incidently is a fantastic machine and makes the finest cup of coffee i have ever had . ( it is the model that john lewis sell for approx. £120 but others sell for £150 and comes in different colours ). Wooden handled coffee tamper – 57/58mm.

It is very useful, good quality wooden handle. I strongly do recommend to all coffe addicted.

Good tamper, just a shade to small for a vst 58mm basket, but if you want a better fit you have to spend a hell of a lot more. Does the job acceptably well, you just have to be careful when polishing to make sure you’re polishing the entire surface.

Well made and solid tamper but probably a bit pricey for what you get. Would have bought a cheaper one in hindsight.

I have own it for over two years and it is made with robust material. It does the job perfectly and effortlessly, without the mess professional grounding machine do.

Feels good in your hand, quality product.

Quick delivery, nice looking and makes a real difference to the creaminess of the coffee.

Million times better than the cheap plastic tamper that comes with the baby gaggia. Can get a decent espresso out of the machine now, without breaking my wristgood quality, and nice and heavyrecommend.

I like the weight and feel of this product, it’s great to use, excellent customer service and tips from coffea online when contacted.

The paint on the handle started flaking off within 4 months. Just found it the cleaner put it in the dishwasher a few times. That could be the reason the paint came off.
