Andrew James Spare Filter and Silicone Gasket – Excelkent

Simple to fit and has given my 20 year old esspresso jug a new lease of lifebargain.

I bought this gasket for a vintage per alimenti 3-cup coffee pot for which spare parts are unavailable. The outer dimensions of 66mm were the same as the old gasket, though the design is slightly different, so it was a small gamble. But it paid off, as the gasket fits perfectly and when i used the stove to make coffee just now, there were no leaks.

Excellent service and exactly the right size so one coffee poor back in use v rather than buying a new one. Here are the specifications for the Andrew James Spare Filter and Silicone Gasket:

  • Spare filter and silicone gasket for most three cup stove top espresso percolator and moka pots.
  • Perfect for the Andrew James three cup stove top coffee percolator.
  • The filter is 5.8cm in diameter.
  • The gasket has an 6.6cm outer diameter and 5cm inner diameter.
  • Non perishing rubber seal leaves you with no after taste.

The filter is fine, just like any other. The silicone gasket is great. It fits easily and thoroughly and looks as though it will last much longer than the traditional rubber (if that’s what it is: i had to chip my old gasket out in bits), and probably without discolouring, too. The andrew james listing – unlike most of the competition – is helpful about dimensions, but the actual packaging is not. In fact, the packaging needs help. It says ‘gasket and silicone for filter cup’. As the bag is transparent, it does not much matter what the label says, but the only size information on it is ‘3cup’. I am english and the idea that my little old stove-top espresso pot is ‘3-cup’ or ‘3-tazze’ would seem ridiculous if i did not know for a fact that it is. (my full pot of espresso does not fill a standard english mug and, yes, i am writing this at 4:45 in the morning.

Great replacement seal and filter.

Arrived promptly, lower cost than competitors, but superior because the rubber gasket, is much more durable than standard, probably silicon rather than perishable and absorbent soft rubber.

An excellent little expresso machine and the best value for money.

Fit the coffee maker they are supposed to fit, nothing more really to say.

  1. 1.0 out of 5 stars Extortionate postage costs
Price is extremely misleading, as the postage is an outrageous £8. 99 (posted from uk), bringing the total to £10 for one tiny seal and filter.
